01 · The crew
Every character is an agent with one job.
25 of them think with Claude. The other 7 are plain code: they watch markets, trends and odds, keep score, replay trading rules and send phone alerts.

02 · Checks in code
Agents' figures get a second look.
Code flags figures it can't match to the data an agent was shown, and the inspector looks at them and attaches a verdict next to the work.
- An agent writesa note or a report, thinking through Claude
- Code lists figuresit can't find in the data the agent was shown
- Ines reviewsnotes, reports and product ideas, and her verdict sits next to the work
- Bo writes lessonsfrom findings that keep coming back
Paper money only. The market and sports desks never trade or bet real money.
Real email, rules in code. Luna's pitches carry a name, a postal address and an unsubscribe link that is honoured forever, with one email per host and a warmed-up daily cap. She only saves addresses a host publishes on its own site.

03 · Newest work
A strategy lab that shows its losses.
The Futures Desk is set up to paper-trade NQ and ES index futures. Its Strategy Lab turns trading ideas from the web into tested strategies the owner can accept or pass.
- Research. Theo, the Lab's researcher, finds an idea on the web and must quote his sources.
- Quote check. Code matches every quote word for word against the source, and a separate AI call judges each one.
- Backtest. The idea is replayed on about 90 days of real one-minute data with the live desk's own code, against random entries and an untouched holdout.
- The owner decides. Once it's tested, the owner can accept it for paper trading. The verdict stays on the card, good or bad.
- 208,693 one-minute bars stored
- 4 ideas found by Theo, 1 built in by hand
- 281 Futures Desk tests (Oct 21, 2026)

04 · Engineering
It restarts, updates and checks itself.
The town's server, database and schedules run on one home PC; the AI thinks through the Claude API. A supervisor brings the town back after a crash, and the nightly update only switches over when the checks pass.
